Access request

New members of the HERD collaboration can ask for access to the collaboration resources. A single account is needed:

1. go to the IAM HERD authentication sever main page;
2. click on the button of your institute and go to 5; if your institute is not listed then click on the eduGAIN button and go to 3;
3. search for your institute by typing its name in the text box. Please keep in mind that it might not appear in the list as you expect, e.g. IHEP won't be found and you have to type "The Institute of High Energy Physics of The Chinese Academy of Sciences");
4. click on Sign in with IdP button
5. you will be redirected to the login page of your institute. Login with your institute's credentials;
6. you will be redirected to the HERD account request form. Please fill the blank fields and submit it;
7. wait for the confirmation email (it might take a while since manual approval from the HERD web infrastructure maintainers is needed).

Now you have access to all of the collaboration resources. When accessing a web resource you will have to login with your IAM HERD account using your institute's credentials, or in other words repeat the above steps from 2 to 5.

A good starting point after you obtained your IAM HERD account is the internal documents page of this site. There you will find guides describing the collaboration's web infrastructure, the software framework etc.
